Maine Lobster Bakes
Picture this: A beautiful beach on a sunny afternoon or early evening. Your family and friends are swimming, playing volleyball, or lazing on the sand. Everyone is enjoying the weather and each other's company, and looking forward to the food being prepared nearby: succulent Maine lobsters, corn on the cob fresh from local farms, blueberry pie, and other goodies. Lobster bakes are a Maine tradition, and perfect for many occasions. Wouldn't you and your wedding party enjoy a lobster bake rehearsal dinner? If you have family and friends flying in from out of town, an afternoon on the beach chowing down on lobsters would be a great way for everyone to get over their jet lag and relax. For a small or casual wedding a lobster bake might even be a fun reception! And of course lobsters aren't the only seafood available. Maine abounds in many kinds of shellfish (clams, crabs, and mussels, anyone?) plus non-shellfish treats such as salmon and haddock. For those who prefer meat it's easy to add hamburgers and other fare to the menu. A lobster bake on the beach is a classic and unforgettable Maine memory. Why not find out for yourself?
